My Choice

A storm swept overhead.
The world turned cold and gray.
Our history, torn to shreds,
Like snowdrifts fading away.

From ashes, a bitter belladonna,
I’ll rise above the pain and sorrow.
The poisonous gossip of the past
Has gone into the dark and light at last.

My choice: no words, only deeds!
The Marquise of Belladonna, I rise.
Striking and insightful crow,
Guarding my truth and my skies!

I cast away the pain,
Like trees that shed their leaves.
Your lesson made me wise:
Trust actions, not sweet speech.
